Under the Cherokee's Hood

The engine options are a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 184 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque and a 3.2-liter V6 that makes 271 hp and 239 lb-ft of torque. Both engines have a nine-speed automatic transmission. You have the option of front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive on either engine. There are two 4WD systems. The first is the Active Drive I system, and the second is the Active Drive II system. The V6 engine can tow up to 4,500 pounds. The fuel economy for the front-wheel drive is 25 mpg and the V6 front-wheel drive is at 24 mpg. The four-wheel drive is at 22 mpg and the four-wheel drive with the four cylinder is at 21 mpg.
